The Bushnell Velocity / Speedster II are great models for this use. When I
tested mine, I was able to get readings of car speeds up to distances of 330
yards with NO OBSTRUCTIONS in the path of the radar. Max distance was 175
yards when measured through a parked car's windows. This distance was
measured with my laser rangefinder, so I know it to be an accurate distance.

I'm looking for an inexpensive method to clock speed of cars on our
neighborhood streets. I saw the "Bushnell Velocity Speed Gun / Sports
Radar Gun 101911 w/ FREE UPS" and wondered if it would suit our needs.
My concern is that the photo shows a woman getting the speed of a car
that seems to be only a hundred feet away, or so, yet the stated specs
indicate:

Bushnell Velocity Radar Gun 10-1911 Ranges:

BASEBALL/ SOFTBALL/ TENNIS: 6-110 mph (90 feet away)/ 16-177 kph
(27 meters away)*

AUTO RACING: 6-200 mph (1500+ feet away)/ 16-322 kph (457 meters
away)

Are those maximum distances?

Thanks for your assistance.
