I just bought a Bushnell velocity a week ago and it worked OK for a day or two. But now the moment i press the trigger, I always get a reading around 170 KPH or 104-105 MPH even nothing is moving at all!

I wonder why I am always getting this stray reading... because if this now I am not able to use the speed gun at all as it just does not tell you the speed of the ball, the result always is that number "169 or 170 KPH".

Any suggestions???

The same thing is happening to me but mine is reading right around 80 mph. Also, when it gets a correct reading, it will only display it for a second. It is supposed to show the highest speed that it recorded while the trigger was pulled, so once I let go, it always jumps to 80.

I posted the earlier message titled "problem with Bushnell velocity". I have now realized that the problem of this stray reading (even when nothing is moving, be it 170KPH or 80KPH or any other number) is due to weak batteries.

I just replaced the batteries with a new set of good batteries and it has been working fine since then. I am not claiming that my solution is the only solution, just that this worked for me! Even if the gun does not give you any indication of weak batteries, try changing them and it might just work.
