I have an idea on challenging LIDAR tickets that would be interesting to try in court.
Cops are notoriously bad shots. Example: in Spokane a bad guy is handcuffed in front, he draws a deputy's weapon, shots him in the ass, escapes hijacking a car in front of the courthouse. Later he's stopped and a shootout ensues, something like 50 rounds are fired, and the bad guy is dead. Autopsy shows NO police rounds hit him, he shot himself with the officers gun he had taken. Cops are notoriously bad shots....
First, subpoena the officers shooting scores from when he qualifies at the range, and see how he shoots. If the officer is shooting 80% on the range, shooting from 15 yards at a stationary target, what are his chances of hitting a target moving 70MPH? Anyone who shoots can tell you, there's a big difference between looking at a target through a rifle scope, and actually hitting the target.
If your speed is a criminal charge, all you need is reasonable doubt....
Good Luck |
