Can the Bushnell Speedster II measure the speed of a hockey puck?

Yes the Bushnell Speedster II can measure the speed of a hockey puck. The puck speed must be traveling at least 20 mph and less than about 200 mph. To get an accurate speed reading the hockey puck must be traveling directly (or almost directly) toward or away from the radar.

If one or more hockey players were in the radar beam and traveling faster than the puck, the radar would probably measure the (fastest) player speed. In most cases the puck will be traveling much faster than players. The Speedster II measures and displays the fastest object in the radar beam (usually the puck).

An ideal location for the radar would be behind the goal net (and behind the safety glass) measuring shots directed at the net. The safety glass and netting are almost transparent to microwaves and will have no effect on measured speed.
